Chelsea Donates $1,500
Thanks to Chelsea Senior Living which raised $25,000 for volunteer rescue squads and other first responders during its annual golf outing on Sept. 28th, 2015. Fanwood Rescue Squad’s Joan Lozowski, 5th from left, was on hand to accept our share which is $1,500. Joanie also won the prize for longest drive by a woman golfer.

Remembering Charter Member Charles Persson
Friends, family and former colleagues gathered at St. Bartholomew The Apostle Church in Scotch Plains Saturday, June 13, 2015, for a mass to remember Charles “Perk” Persson, a founding member of the Rescue Squad, firefighter and Fanwood police officer, who died in May at his home in Florida. Choir Concert Benefits Squads
Another great concert by an all star choir and musicians from across northern New Jersey at Fanwood Presbyterian Church Sunday, May 17th. A total of $2,248 was raised in free wil donations to be split evenly between the Fanwood and Scotch Plains Rescue Squads. Thanks to Pastor David Jahnke and Music Ministry Director Tom Berdos for making it happen a fourth year in a row.
Overlook Responder of the Year
EMT Brian Downing was chosen as our Responder of the Year at the annual Overlook Medical Center EMS Dinner on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Brian is consistently one of our top three responders each month despite being a full time college student and responding to calls for the Scotch Plains and Neptune rescue squads as well. The presentation was made by Captain Patty Buckridee. Brian follows in the footsteps of his dad, Jeff Downing, a veteran EMT with the Rescue Squad and firefighter. Congratulations, Brian!

2015 Installation and Awards Dinner
EMTs Brian Downing and Karolyn Buckridee were the Fanwood Rescue Squad’s Number 1 and Number 2 responders for 2014 at the annual awards dinner at Berkeley Plaza Saturday, January 17, 2015. Length of service awards were also given to Rob Villegas and Karolyn Buckridee for five years of service. And a team of FRS members who helped save the life of a Fanwood man in cardiac arrest in late 2014 were recognized with “save” pins.
