EMS Memorial Bike Ride

EMS bikers at Forest Rd Park Fanwood

The Fanwood Rescue Squad provided a stop-over for this year’s EMS Memorial Bike Ride honoring the service and commitment of EMS Professionals with a vision to reduce illness, injury and mortality through recognition and promotion of physical and mental well being.

The May 13th visit at Forest Road Park provided shelter from the pouring rain for the East Coast group biking to Washington, DC. They came via New York City where FDNY Station 7 provided lunch and an escort through New York.

EMT Melissa Padulsky had the honor of helping to set up a stop for the eastern leg of the National EMS bike ride. Captain Brian Downing stopped by as well, along with EMT Joan Lozowski. Former squad member Bud Lavin was on hand as part of the support team.

Each rider carried the dog tags of someone lost in the line of duty in EMS to be presented and hung on a memorial tree in DC.

Thanks to Melissa for her commitment to this event and making our visitors feel welcome in Fanwood!
