Squad participates in Memorial Day ceremony
The Rescue Squad took part in the 2021 Memorial Day ceremony at the Fanwood Library, laying a wreath at the war memorial. The annual observance drew a larger than usual crowd as Mayor Colleen Mahr led the event with praise remembrance for servicemen and women, living and deceased. Captain Ian Lewis and President Jamie Pedinoff laid the wreath as other squad members stood at attention. Among the honorees this year was Earl Phillips, the last remaining founding member of the squad and one of five known World War II veterans still living. Earl, 99, was unable to attend the ceremony.
